Hand-thrown using natural stoneware clay.

The Majority of my Lampshades are unglazed and fired to a lower temperature (normally 1260 degrees). The lower temperature gives a pastel finish that diffuses light and shadow, which allows for a softer more subtle appearance despite the harsh angles of the form. This shade has been fired to 980 degrees.

This  is a closed top shade made to match the surfaces and edges of my Gestalt Vases. The sharp edges contrast with subtly curved surfaces to play with light and shadow.
