Hand-thrown using coloured stoneware clay.
The Majority of my Lampshades are unglazed and fired to a lower temperature. The lower temperature gives a pastel finish that diffuses light and shadow, which allows for a softer more subtle appearance despite the harsh angles of the form. This shade has been fired to 980 degrees.
The open top of this shade enables the use of other materials. The wooden hanging board is used to contrasts the precise edges of the shade
